Product Care

The zincalume planters are quite popular with many of our customers because of their look and lightweight nature. However it needs to be understood that even though they are quite thick in
comparison with other supposed zincalume products on the market they are metal and when placed outside will have a tendency to corrode especially when the soil and water is constantly in contact with the metal.

This can be retarded by taking some or all of the following precautions:
1. Tank the inside with a water based fibre reinforced bitumen paint such as Conpro 100.
2. Paint the outside with a rust inhibitor such as Penetrol.
3. Drill plenty of drainage holes in the bottom.
4. If possible keep the plants in their plastic tubs and use the Zincalume planter as a sleeve.

We can apply the bitumen paint and Penetrol for an added 15% charge.
